Have you ever loved a trip so much that you’ve already made plans in your mind to come back before you’ve even left? That’s how I feel about Jackson Hole, Wyoming, I just love everything about it there! The weather, the scenery, the people (everyone is sooo nice) and of course, the food! There’s so much to do no matter the season and something for everyone you’re traveling with. Weather you want to hike the beautiful national parks, float down the river, do a little shopping or enjoy a fun night at the Rodeo, you’re guaranteed to have a good time. There’s also something so magical about just being there. It’s hard to explain unless you’ve been but it’s a special place that will have you wanting to visit again and again.
This was actually our first time visiting during the summer and I think it might be my favorite season in Wyoming! The mornings were nice and cool (in the 50’s) and it would heat up a bit in the afternoon, however it never felt humid and sticky even when it neared 80 degrees – perfect for enjoying the entire day outdoors especially if you like to dine al fresco. The fall is absolutely beautiful too so you really can’t go wrong, and there is something so majestic about seeing the mountainous landscape covered in snow. It’s quite breathtaking. There are also different activities offered during different seasons so if skiing is your thing then fall and winter would be ideal! It did seem like there were more activities available to do this time around, like horse back riding and river rafting to name a few, so it just depends on what you and your family like to do.
Where we stayed:
The Cloudveil was our home for the week we were visiting and I cannot say enough good things! This is a newer property (as in it had only been open for two months at the time of our stay!) so we knew when we booked the room that there could possibly be some hiccups here and there with operations being so new, however our stay was absolutely perfect! Everyone on staff was not only friendly but eager to help to ensure a good stay. The room was beautiful and very comfortable for our family of three. We also had an up to date Nespresso machine, which you all know is my fave, and plenty of coffee pod choices as well as creamers and sweeteners. One of my least favorite parts about traveling is the disappointing coffee options you usually get in your room so this was such a nice detail that Andy and I both really enjoyed. I also mentioned this on my stories while we were there (if you follow me on IG) but there were also snacks and granola bars set out in the hallways along with a mini fridge that was always stocked with cold bottled water and even my favorite Le Croix! Again just another detail that really made our stay so nice. There is also quite a bit of outdoor space at the hotel – two different rooftop seating areas and the courtyard where the pool and hot tub are located.
The Cloudveil is located right off of the main square in the heart of Jackson Hole. Besides the hotel itself being absolutely stunning this was probably my favorite part. Being able to step out of the front door and walk everywhere you wanted to go was so nice, especially if you have kids with you. All of the best restaurants and shopping were all just steps from the hotel. We will definitely be planning another trip and staying at The Cloudveil!

Things to do:
One of our favorite activities every time we visit is going up in the Gondolas at Teton Village. There are several to choose from depending on when you visit. This time we went up to the top of Pisto Mountain and the views were amazing! Once at the top there is a full service bistro with plenty of outdoor seating. The menu is super family friendly and has something for everyone. There are also hiking trails that you can take from there so there’s plenty to do when you get to the top! The ride up and down by itself makes for a super fun outing – even Andy enjoys it and he’s not the biggest fan of heights. Be sure to check the days and times the Gondola is open while you’re there since their hours do change during different seasons.
There’s so much to do in Teton Village aside from the Gondolas, you could really spend an entire day there. There are a few restaurants, shops and (weather depending) they have a rock climbing wall and trampoline bungee that looked like so much fun! There are also mountain bike trails down the mountain which for us was so fun to watch! If you’re wanting to ride horses you can do that right across the parking lot. I didn’t have any luck talking Andy into it on this trip but we did make our way over to visit the horses and it ended up being one of the highlights of the trip for me :). If you think that’s something you’d like to do I recommend calling ahead of time to reserve your spot.
If you’re wanting to sign up for a more adventurous outing there are pamphlets everywhere offering just about anything you could want to do! Again I would call ahead for any activity (even renting bikes) if you’re there during the busy summer season.

Favorite restaurants:
The Bunnery Bakery & Restaurant – an absolute MUST for breakfast!
The Bistro – Located inside of The Cloudveil Hotel (Sophie highly recommends the French Onion Soup)
Jackson Drug Co. – The best burgers, fries and shakes (you won’t regret it lol!)
Cafe Genevive – Another great breakfast spot, my go-to order is the chicken and waffles ๐
Persephone Bakery – Do yourself a favor and get the Quiche Lorraine (my favorite meal of the entire trip!) and the coffee and pastries are second to none! If you have time grab a table outside by the fire pit – it’s as dreamy as it sounds.
Suda Izakaya – If you like sushi this place was delish! Sophie had the Ramen and gave it two thumbs up!
Pinky G’s Pizza – Unfortunately our favorite pizza place was close on our visit this time but if it’s open when you’re there, go! It’s a tiny little place but it’s the best pizza in town!
The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar – Another must if you’re up for a nicer dining experience. We didn’t make reservations this time around but if you’re visiting for the first time it really is a great dinner!

Jenny Lake is always a must go on our trips to Wyoming. The drive up is beautiful and not too long, so if you’re not up for an entire day it’s easy to get to and the views are just incredible! No matter where you go there are plenty of pull off areas to snap the most beautiful pics. These are framers for sure ๐

This was a quicker trip for us so we didn’t do any long days in the National Parks like we did on our last visit but we really did have the best time ever! If you’re thinking about making the trip out to Wyoming I hope this post is helpful for you and I’d love to hear about your travels!

This post is not sponsored in any way however there are commissionable outfit links.

This post has given me such great info! I am getting married next month, and we are still trying to figure out where we want to go on our honeymoon. I’ve been thinking about Colorado, but your trip to Wyoming has stuck out to me (I watched your stories and thought it would be a great place to go). I do have a question though… Did you guys rent a car or were there other ways to get around if your next stop wasn’t walking distance? TIA!
P.S. I have loved following you the last couple of years! I’ve learned so much, whether it be about makeup or skin care or fashion…I’ve gotten something out of it! And absolutely love seeing your family and every day life!๐๐
Oh my gosh congratulations! I love that you’re considering going to WY! We do rent a car each time we go because there’s just so much to see and do outside of the Jackson Hole square. On our last trip we did Yellowstone and it was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had but it is quite a drive. Wherever you decide to go I hope you have an amazing time!
Thanks for the recommendations! Weโre heading to Jackson Hole this weekend.
Oh I’m so jealous! Have the best time!
I can’t believe how tall Sophie is now!
You and me both lol!
Lovely write up!!! You all look wonderful! Life Goals!
Did you rent a car while there or is everything within walking distance ?
We did! Depending on where you’re staying a lot of things are within walking distance in the square but if you want to visit any of the parks you’ll need to drive.
How long did you guys stay for this trip? Your post made me wanna plan a trip to Jackson Hole!
This trip was a little last minute for us so were were there for 4 days this time! There’s so much to do there so we usually go for a full week but so glad we were able to at least squeeze in a few days ๐
Awesome post, thank you for all the great info! Was wondering – where did you find the beige hat you are wearing in the last picture?
I love the Jackson Hole area !
Two of my teenage grandchildren and I went to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Parks in June.
We stayed at the 49er Hotel just a few blocks from Old Town Jackson Hole. Very rustic and our suite was very spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and and informative.
We took two tours from Bush Buck and well worth it. The guides knew wildlife, geographic and environmental information and did an excellent job of telling the tour. The guides were very good about stopping to let us see unexpected wildlife and interesting places.
So many natural sites such as Old Faithful, Rainbow Springs, hot springs, Jenny Lake to name a few. Canโt put into words the awesome sites we saw and enjoyed. Once in a lifetime for me.
Nice
I took our family out there mid August of this yr.
Absolute trip of a lifetime….my whole clan now wants to move to that area, lol
We might just make it happen.
Nice article !
